How affordable is it to live in Latrobe Valley?
We asked a Moe resident how they were getting by in a cost-of-living crisis in Gippsland and if finding a daycare centre was an issue for them.
The Gippsland Monitor hit the streets and spoke to a Latrobe Valley local about how she is able to get by in a cost-of-living crisis.
She mentioned that after moving from the city her family had gone off-grid which had helped with their energy bills.
“We have a lot of our expenses covered because we have our own water tank and we have our own solar,” she said.
She also mentioned she had noticed the scarcity and increased cost of daycare, “there’s obviously less choices of daycare around here than what we had when we lived in the city, and the prices are actually a little bit higher.”
